UNICRE joins the voice of the Bank of Portugal: contactless payments reduce the risk of Covid-19 spreading

Banco de Portugal pagamentos contactless diminuem risco de propagação

UNICRE is committed to helping the Portuguese maintain some normality in the daily process of their lives. The payments and purchases that everyone needs to make are part of that everyday life and that normality.

Yesterday, the Bank of Portugal issued a statement affirming its position on the payment method that should be favoured over others. "Contactless payments are convenient and safe," says the Bank of Portugal. UNICRE agrees and believes that this is a positive measure, especially at this time, in order to reduce the risks of spreading in a simple act such as payment.

A contactless technology REDUNIQ is the only one in Portugal with PCI DSS certification, ensuring that the payment process through REDUNIQ is truly secure in every respect.

The contactless payments are simple and quick to make: just bring your card close to the payment terminal, wait a few seconds and... you're done. For purchases of up to €50 (instead of the previous €20) you don't even need to enter the code. Everything is secure and certified.

UNICRE is committed to helping the Portuguese at this difficult time, ensuring that the safest methods are at everyone's service.
