The efforts of Moov Hotels, owned by the Endutex group, to promote environmentally and socially sustainable practices in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda has just been recognised with the award of the Biosphere certification.
After a rigorous assessment and training process which, among other things, included the development of a sustainable action plan based on the consolidation of good environmental, social, cultural and economic practices, all the Moov hotels ended up guaranteeing compliance with the international guidelines of the Biosphere certification system.
According to André Ferreira, director of Endutex Hotels,
"this is just the start of a long journey. We will continue to work to ensure that sustainability is an increasingly intrinsic reality in our operation, guaranteeing that those who visit us can enjoy a responsible, quality stay."
This certification is a reflection of the Endutex group's commitment to aligning itself with the highest sustainability standards in force in a seamless chain that starts in-house and extends to suppliers, the local community and the environment.
But more than just a seal of quality, the Biosphere distinction is, for him, an ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the sustainable practices of the group's hotels.
Digitalisation of payments: a winning bet on the road to sustainability
One of the areas that helped Moov Hotels raise their sustainability standards and achieve Biosphere certification was undoubtedly the digitalisation of payments.
By dispensing with paper, offering more agile management, reducing operating costs and the resources used, digital payments take the hospitality industry to a new level of demand that perfectly fits in with consumer trends current.
For example, with the Integrated Payment Solution of REDUNIQ, the Moov Hotels chain has started integrating debit and credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diner and Discover) with the main credit card programmes. hotel management utilised, thus making the card acceptance process faster, simpler and more secure.
How does the Integrated Payment System for Hospitality work?
Simplicity is the key to this REDUNIQ solution created with the hotel industry in mind.
With the Integrated Payments for HospitalityAt check-in, guests only have to present their card once as a means of payment.
At this point, the hotel employee enters the customer into the hotel management system, indicates the estimated amount of their final expense, which includes the price of the stay and expenses at the spa, bar or restaurant, and authorises the amount on the card used.
The card is then read at the terminal installed on site, which is connected to the management system, and the authorisation is automatically made on the customer's card.
However, this authorised amount is not watertight, since if expenditure exceeds it, this management system automatically triggers successive authorisation requests (top-up) on the customer's card, thus ensuring that the customer always has enough to pay the full amount of their expenditure.
At check-out, the employee closes the account and the debit is made automatically from the customer's account.
At that point, the customer will be issued with a receipt for the amounts debited without having to re-authenticate the transaction, which makes check-out faster and simpler.
