FAQ

This is a solution provided by REDUNIQ, which makes it possible to integrate debit and credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diner and Discover) with the main hotel management programmes. This makes the card acceptance process faster, simpler and more secure.

At check-in, the guest presents their card once as a means of payment. The hotel employee enters the customer into the hotel management system, indicates the estimated amount of the customer's final expenditure (including the price of the stay and any bar, restaurant or spa charges) and authorises the amount on the card used. The card is read at the on-site terminal, which is connected to the management system, and the authorisation is automatically made on the customer's card.

Throughout the stay, whenever the amount of expenditure exceeds the amount previously authorised, the management system automatically triggers successive authorisation requests (top-up) on the customer's card. This ensures that the customer has sufficient funds to settle the total amount of their expense.

At check-out, the account is closed by the hotel clerk, the debit is automatically made from the customer's account and the system issues a receipt of the debited amounts to give to the customer. Since the system registers the card details at check-in, there is no need for the customer to re-authenticate the transaction, thus making check-out quicker and simpler.

It is not necessary to subscribe to the DCC service when you contract the Integrated Payments Solution. Both solutions can be used at the same time, but they work independently of each other. The DCC service is a facility that can generate more value for the merchant, as it offers a financial incentive, and for the customer, who can pay in their card's currency of origin.

The hotel management programmes compatible with REDUNIQ's Integrated Payments solution are: Opera, Fidelio, Protel, Host and Sihot. Minimum versions: Opera 4.0.05.02 and 5.0.01.02; Fidelio 8.8.01; Micros 3700 and 3900.

If the customer is from abroad and wishes to pay in the card's home currency, the top-up is made in Euros and the sale is finalised in the card's home currency.

There is no additional cost for traders who have a contract with REDUNIQ.

REDUNIQ's Integrated Payments Solution has been specially developed for the hospitality and tourism sectors, taking their needs into account. As such, this service is aimed at hotels with hotel management systems.

This service does not work with terminals connected to SIBS. If the merchant wants to join the Integrated Payments Solution, they must have all their terminals in the establishment connected to MONEXT.

The Integrated Payments solution is available for debit and credit cards from the international Visa, Mastercard, Diners, Discover, JCB and American Express systems.
